August 10 - 16, 2007
Terra spacecraft and instrument subsystems are in nominal operations.
Good News. Terra's Direct Access System (DAS) Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) side 1 is now recovered. Analysis and deliberations by the manufacturer Lockheed Martin, AETD Microwave Systems Branch, AETD Power Systems Branch, AETD Thermal Branch, as well as the ESMO flight operations team led to a plan to command power to the primary side which had stopped functioning on August 3rd. Direct Broadcast user sites at Sioux Falls South Dakota, Oregon State University, USDA Forest Service in Salt Lake City, and SeaSpace Corp. all locked on the first signal on August 16 and report that signal strength and data quality appear nominal. Performance continues to be good in the next orbit as reported by Valladolid University in Spain.
