April 8 - 14, 2005
The Terra spacecraft is operating nominally in science mode.
On April 7, a meeting occurred to discuss the STS return to flight and its potential impact to Terra operations. It was determined the lowest impact to Terra operations (1-9 percent) would be found while using TDE. Therefore, the Flight Operations Team (FOT) plans on using TDE and not TDS during this time. As always, any addition contacts not available via the TDRS network will be filled in using the GN.
Mission Impact Reports (MIRs)
Four MIRs occurred this week having to do with the High Gain Antenna Motor Drive
Assembly (MDA2) BITE failures while in the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA). In all
cases, there was no impact to science objectives and no data loss.
One MIR occurred this week having to do with a late acquisition with TDW. There was no impact to current science objectives and no science data loss.
One MIR occurred this week having to do with no cadu counts received from EDOS during both a science playback and science replay. An EDOS network problem was the cause. In both cases, there was no impact to current science objectives and no science data loss.
