Terra Weekly Mission Status Update

The Terra spacecraft is operating nominally in science mode. The SOARS system was successfully populated with all known Terra anomalies to date.

The scope and design of the Terra automation development continues to be refined. Trade studies of the capabilities of the first release were discussed in a meeting this week.

Mission Impact Report

One MIR occurred this week having to do with the High Gain Antenna Motor Drive Assembly (MDA2) BITE failures while in the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA). There was no impact to science objectives and no data loss.

Two MIRs occurred this week during EPGN proficiency contacts with AGS. One contact had no S-band data received requiring a carrier re-sweep to enable commanding. The other contact involved Mutual Interference (MI) that lasted approximately 4 minutes. In both cases, old science data was successfully dumped.

One MIR occurred this week during an EPGN proficiency contact with SGS. Although X-band science dumped successfully, there were numerous S-band dropouts during contact.

One MIR occurred this week involving a K-band, EMOS failover from B to A due to an unknown equipment anomaly at WSGT. All data was recovered on the subsequent dump. Further investigation is needed.

One MIR occurred this week where EDOS was not configured properly to capture science data via a TDE proficiency contact. It was determined EDOS was not configured for this WSGT event. On the second replay attempt, EDOS reported data were captured successfully.
