The eighth Terra re-engineering (Automation) meeting was held on January 11. For this meeting, the Terra Automation Requirement Development Schedule was updated with the Ops Concept Overview on Jan. 18 and the Closeout Trade Study Discussions occurring on Jan. 25.

The FOT provided a list of procedures for a nominal TDRS K-Band Contact. This list identified the procedures, actions required within the procedure execution, telemetry verifications and contingency table. Additional information was requested to better identify what would be required of the Automation system. A splinter meeting set to discuss further on Jan. 14.

Status data (CODA format) are sufficient for Real-Time operations and do not need enhancements to have insight to the virtual channel (VC) level. Discussions will continue to improve the reliability of receiving CODAs.

Although no specific date has been set for the Solid State Recorder (SSR) Data Module Unit (DMU) power recycle, we are shooting for sometime the week of January 23. A meeting with NASA HQ is scheduled for Jan. 14. A contract vehicle is in the works to get support for this activity.

A mission impact report was written this week on the High Gain Antenna (HGA) Motor Drive Assembly (MDA2) BITE Failure while in the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA). This failed during a science playback requiring the FOT to stop the playback. Telemetry was reacquired 7 minutes later, however, there was insufficient time in remainder of contact to perform the MODIS lockup replay. During the back-orbit, these science data were overwritten. All other science data were captured during the next TDRS Contact.

Eight MIRs occurred this week having to do with Late Acquisitions on TDRS-WEST (TDW). This is a substantially higher frequency than normal and the FOT is continuing to investigate. No science data were lost as a result of these late acquisitions.
