Terra successfully completed a minus 1.39-degree MODIS Roll Maneuver on December 31, 2004.

The seventh Terra re-engineering meeting was held on Jan. 4. The group spent the hour discussing possible ways to emulate both on-line and off-line engineering tasks. This is a critical point in our discussions because it will directly impact the integrity of the current system.

The Flight Operations Team (FOT) is currently reviewing/revising its procedures for the Solid State Recorder (SSR) power recycle. Although no specific date has been set yet, we are shooting for sometime the week of January 23. A contract vehicle is in the works to get extra support for this activity.

There was one report of High Gain Antenna Motor Drive Assembly (MDA2) BITE failure while in the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA). There was no impact to science objectives and no data loss.

There were eight reports on K-band dropouts with TDS during science data playback. This is a common problem that occurs more frequently (1-2 times per week) this time of year. The FOT is not sure why this frequency has increased over the last two weeks and plans to investigate further. In any event, no science data were lost due to replaying data during the same TDRSS contact.

There were two reports this week involving the failed update of the AOS-LOS clock on days 365 and 366. Although there was no impact to science objectives, these MIRs need further investigation.
