October 8 - 14, 2004
All Terra Subsystems and Instruments have performed nominally for the past week.
No problems were encountered while the Terra spacecraft experienced a solar eclipse occurred on the evening of Wednesday, October 13 (288/0054-0504 GMT).
On Friday, October 7 (DOY 281), AGS X-Band had multiple data hits throughout a proficiency playback. This is a problem that occurs around 30% of the time, so a recertification of AGS is being considered.
The Terra Mission Management System (MMS) system (build 14) was patched on Oct. 5, 2004, due to an uplink notification being rejected which corrupts the Spacecraft Model. This patch also corrected an Absolute Time Command (ATC) problem which was preventing late changes from occurring. This patch fixed both problems. Also, since there was a 3-year jump from the old version of MMS (build 9) and the current build, many changes/updates have occurred that have caused a performance decline. A report on this issue was written and the issue is under investigation.
The scheduled transition of the EOS Core Syste (ECS) contract to the MOMS contract is planned for January 15, 2005 (Aura launch plus 180-Days). The Flight Operations Team (FOT) will transition on December 20, 2004.
