Terra Weekly Mission Status Update
Weekly Update Archive

Aug. 6-12, 2004

The Terra spacecraft is operating nominally. All five instruments are in science mode.

A 6-degree roll maneuver for support of MODIS lunar calibration was performed on August 4, 2004. The next roll will be 7.9 degrees and will be performed on September 3, 2004.

A delta-V maneuver for atmospheric drag compensation will be performed on Terra on August 26, 2004.

There have been no data losses or issues associated with the Terra Solid State Recorder (SSR) since the loss of a Printed Wire Assembly (PWA) board on July 31, 2004, that resulted in the loss of two supersets of data record capability in the MISR SSR buffer. The one superset allocated to the Trash Buffer was reallocated to the MISR instrument to minimize the risk of data loss and eliminate the need to rework the Terra downlink scenario. The Trash Buffer supplies a bit error count and does not significantly enhance SSR diagnostic capabilities.
