Terra Weekly Mission Status Update
Weekly Update Archive June 18-24, 2004 The Terra spacecraft is operating nominally. All five instruments are in science mode. The delta-V maneuver to compensate for atmospheric drag originally scheduled for mid-July was successfully conducted on June 24, 2004. The maneuver was only 6.6 seconds in duration as a result of the earlier execution date as well as low solar flux and consequent low atmospheric drag. MODIS lunar calibration roll maneuvers will be resumed in July after a hiatus of 2 months. Maneuvers were suspended for May and June because the lunar view would have required a roll in excess of the maximum value of 20 degrees allowed by the mission rules. |
