Terra Weekly Mission Status Update
Weekly Update Archive

June 4-10, 2004

The Terra spacecraft is operating nominally. All five instruments are in science mode.

The bimonthly calibration sequence for MISR, which consists of three separate calibration activities, was interrupted on May 19 when incorrect placement of the goniometer was observed between activities. Additional calibrations were pre-empted until analysis of goniometer behavior and testing on the engineering model could be performed by engineers at JPL. After completion of this analysis, it was deemed safe by the MISR team and JPL engineers to resume calibrations. The latest calibration sequence was completed successfully on June 4.

Plans:

  • A routine roll maneuver for support of MODIS lunar calibration will be conducted in July.
  • A delta-V maneuver to compensate for atmospheric drag will be conducted in July.
