Terra Weekly Mission Status Update
Weekly Update Archive February 27 - March 5, 2004 The Terra spacecraft is operating nominally. All five instruments are in science mode. A Terra Tiger Team meeting was held on March 2. This meeting is being held regularly each Tuesday, and the team includes GSFC and White Sands personnel with Space Network and Terra Flight Operations Team support. The team continues to work to diagnose the cause of Category 1 and Category 2 K-band dropouts. There have been no Category 2 events since January 29, the date on which maintenance was performed on the WSC STGT high-rate switch. It was concluded that the high rate switch was most likely the cause of Category 2 events before Jan. 29 (Day 29). Since Day 29, the Category 2 events were described as first seeing data quality monitoring equipment (DQM) or decoder dropout, and then 2-5 frames of data loss, but no high-rate receiver carrier loss.
